Michael Dowd is Manager of Technology for Outrider. He is responsible for providing search technology expertise and consulting to Outrider Client Service Leads and the account teams who service clients. He is also responsible for remaining current on all emerging technology developments within the industry and the agency, and identifying opportunities to apply those tools to further leverage clients’ search programs, their visibility on Google, Yahoo, MSN and other search engines.

Eighteen months since joining the Outrider, Michael has quickly emerged as a leader. Over the past year, he has managed a global pharmaceutical account that has grown more than 800% in 12 months, and has revealed opportunities that would, through technology, drive opportunities for the pharmaceutical client, other agency clients, and Outrider.

Now Technology Manager for our agency, which entails more than 27 global offices serving 40 countries, Michael has earned two rapid promotions from Search Specialist to Account Manager, and into his current role. His position was created to not only invest in Michael’s potential and interest in technology, but to also create a focus within the company to make Outrider more competitive and appealing to global advertisers, further fulfilling our responsibility as a strategic search marketing partner to our roster of more than 30 Fortune 500 clients, and 30+ industry-leading brands.

His insight into strategy and search technology opportunities makes the company more efficient in product offering, allows our client service teams to work more efficiently, which leads to better campaign management and better use of client budgets committed to the search marketing programs.

His grasp and interest for search technology emerged while he was an Account Manager for a pharmaceutical client. Under guidance of a seasoned Client Service Lead, the search strategy developed Michael’s account team delivered a 600% click-through-rate increase, significantly increasing traffic to the client’s website while decreasing cost-per-click by 25%.

Michael is a graduate of Cornell University, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Natural Resources with a focus on Computer Science.
