Cindy Kerber Spellman Director, Corporate Communications

Cindy Kerber Spellman is the Director of Corporate Communications for Outrider. She provides marketing strategy at both the external and internal levels, and is responsible for all marketing, advertising and public relations initiatives within the organization.
Cindy has a diverse marketing communications and public relations background, including extensive brand marketing, online communications, brand identity development, media relations, community relations, corporate, internal and crisis communications, corporate/civic sponsorship, event planning, non-profit and cause marketing experience. She has led integrated, strategic marketing communications campaigns for global organizations including Energizer, Build-A-Bear Workshop, AutoZone, VEIL Interactive Technologies, and Voltron, and has provided public relations support for SBC, McDonalds, and the Humane Society of Missouri. She is a noted media specialist and has coordinated opportunities with CNN, AP, major network national feeds, U.S. News & World Report, WIRED Magazine, Variety, Maxim Magazine, The Washington Post and more. She has coordinated media relations and sponsorship St. Louis' largest civic events including Fair Saint Louis and the Great Forest Park Balloon Race, and has coordinated media relations and marketing for the 2004 Olympic Team Trials Diving, 2004 Olympic Team Trials Women's Marathon, Spirit of St. Louis Marathon & Family Fitness Weekend, and Downtown on Ice.
After completing a six-month internal and marketing communications internship with Fleishman Hillard, Cindy joined Blick&Staff Communications in 2000 as an Account Executive for Energizer. Over the course of the next three years, led marketing communications, media and community relations efforts for Energizer, and as Senior Public Relations Manager and played a key role in business development, resulting in 300% growth of the company. She was a designated client spokesperson as well as national and local-market media specialist, and successfully accomplished client Build-A-Bear Workshop's goal of owning the Teddy Bear Centennial, creating a mutli-platform, year-long campaign that generating more than 1,000 media placements in 2001. Cindy joined Koplar Communications International (KCI) in 2004 as Director of Publications, where she managed public relations and marketing communications for the organizations primary companies, including VEIL Interactive Technologies, World Events Productions (WEP), and Koplar Properties. In addition to generating industry and consumer awareness of a break-through technology, she was responsible for managing media relations for WEP's entertainment properties, and facilitating resident, business, political and contractor relationships surrounding Koplar Properties' commercial developments. While with KCI, press coverage for the organizations tripled and a focused community giving program was developed.
Cindy also specializes in international and cultural relations, and is fluent in both English and German. She was selected for the German-American Business Exchange, sponsored by Webster University and the Missouri Department of Economic Development, and completed a public relations business exchange in southern Germany. She is a recipient of the 2000 Silver Quill award for Government and Community Relations, and founder of The Big Chill, a non-profit organization dedicated to hosting civic events for the enjoyment of the St. Louis community, while increasing awareness and raising funds for local charities.
Cindy is a graduate of Webster University, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Public Relations and Certificate of International Relations, and completed a term focused on European Union politics and cultural studies at Universitaat Lueneburg in Lueneburg, Germany.
